Why You Second-Guess Your Success

OK, big question...do you believe you deserve success?

Hopefully, your first answer is "of course I do!" - whether you consider yourself to be successful now or not.

What I’m wondering is how you really feel deep down.

In working with high-achieving women for years, I’ve rarely found anyone who doesn't question, at some level, whether she deserves or can handle all she desires.

Each woman defines success differently and your version might look very different than mine. While it sounds good to say YES to success, happiness and our ultimate visions, there's usually a part of us that's freaked out by the idea of having everything we want.

That part - which I sometimes call the naysayer, the saboteur or simply fear - likes to shut down our lofty ideas and keep us from making waves and creating change, even for the better.

The naysayer is designed to protect us…and guess what? We need it to help us make smart choices so we can crush it! But we don’t need it to crush our plans, our goals and our dreams in the process.

The naysayer gets VERY active when we’re on the verge of our next level. So much so that if a client isn’t nervous at all about what’s next, we might be shooting too low when it comes to their goals.

Trust me, I’m not immune to this.

Lately, I’ve had lots of action in my business including clients, collaborations and a flood of great ideas. While none of these are game changers on their own, the combination could be...and I can feel the energy of expansion and protection brewing inside me.

It’s a mix of excitement, nervousness, inspiration, questioning and more, depending on the day…or even the hour. While my fears can be strong, I'm doing my best to stay focused on showing up, sharing my best and allowing things to go well.

This is what I remind myself about success, deserving and leveling up that I want to remind you of too…

• Be fiercely loving to yourself and to your naysayer, it’s there to protect you

• Breathe into the powerful energy that's naturally rising in you, it's all good

• Know that the Universe is with you and wants ALL that you want and more

• Everything is designed to support your success and happiness, even if it doesn’t feel that way

• Your worthiness is never in question - you don't have to earn your worth, it’s yours

Powerful truths that I know in the deepest parts of my soul…that you can read and repeat if they resonate and help.
