Why I Hate The Term "Soft Skills"

For decades, the business world has elevated technical expertise while treating so-called "soft skills" as secondary.
I actually hate that term!!
Because there is nothing "soft" about the ability to build trust, navigate difficult conversations, solve complex problems or lead people through change.
Yet many women have been taught to downplay the qualities that make them possible - instead of recognizing them as professional strengths.
And as AI continues to reshape how we work, they're becoming even more important.
Technology can automate tasks. It can process information. It can generate content.
But it can’t replace authentic human connection, judgment or nuance that exists in the workplace…and this is often where women thrive.
If you've ever questioned whether some of your natural strengths belong in business, watch my latest (2 min.) video.
And if you're ready to leverage those strengths in your business, career or leadership role, let's talk.
